In previous lives, LaDonna Witmer was a newspaper journalist, advertising copywriter, brand voice expert, editorial director, public speaker, and poetry slammer. She now tends her dogs, dahlias, and daughter on a quinta in rural Portugal while writing essays, poems, and memoir. LaDonna is a Hedgebrook and Disquiet alum who’s written three chapbooks and had poetry published in SWWIM, Tupelo Quarterly, and the poetry anthology Ache: The Body’s Experience of Religion. She is writing a memoir about fundamentalism and fire.
