Sonal Goorha is a mixed media artist working in the Washington, DC region whose practice explores identity, survival, power, and repair through watercolor, photography, printmaking, and found materials. Influenced by experiences in mountaineering, engineering, and martial arts, her work examines trauma, resilience, vulnerability, and transformation through layered material processes rooted in both personal history and regional landscapes. By incorporating natural elements and community-sourced objects, she investigates fragility, endurance, connection, and the possibility of reassembly and renewal. Her work has appeared in Wildscape Literary Journal and on the cover of Pergola Literary Magazine, and has been exhibited several places including Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, and Texas. She received First Place in 2D Works at the 2025 Regional Art Show in Dallas, Texas.
