Editor’s Note

Dear Readers,

In 2026, this country doesn’t want us to exist. We have lost many in the face of this cruelty. I hope that those of us who are still here can find ways to hold and help each other survive. Poetry and art are life-giving, saying that we are here and insisting that our voices matter—that we refuse to be erased.

I want to thank everyone who submitted to this issue of Thimble Lit Mag. All of you and your voices are essential in this world. Your work is important and is one of the ways we can love ourselves and each other. I hope you keep writing and making art. I am so grateful for Nadia, Izzy, and Cavar. This issue couldn’t have existed without you.

I have an art print on my wall that I bought at Pride nine years ago that says, soft and angry. We are fighting to live in a world that doesn’t want to let us have tenderness or exist softly. I hope you find some of the softness and anger you need here.

Love,
Ren Wilding
